• C++Now 2020 Student/Volunteer Application

  • C++Now, an international gathering of C++ programmers, is inviting young coders with an interest in the C++ language to attend the 2020 C++Now conference (Aspen, CO, USA, May 3rd - 8th 2020) as student/volunteers. Student/Volunteers will receive free registration. Additionally, financial support for travel and lodging is available for student/volunteers.

    For many participants, the Student/Volunteer program is a life-changing experience; you can read some of their stories here.

    Student/Volunteers will assist with various tasks at the conference, such as: assisting speakers, running the conference picnic, setting up rooms and break-areas, providing on-site A/V support and helping with A/V post-processing. Student/Volunteers will additionally be asked to write a post-trip report about their experience at the conference. Volunteer work will not prevent students from attending most sessions.

    Student/Volunteers from all fields of study are welcome to apply. However, this conference covers advanced C++ topics, and applicants should be familiar with general computer science topics.

    If you are not a US citizen and currently live outside of the US, you may need a visa to attend the conference. The type of visa needed is typically a B-1 Business Visa. Getting a visa will usually require a scheduled interview at a US embassy. In some countries, there is a long wait time for visa interviews. If you will need a visa to attend the conference, please schedule a visa interview immediately after submitting your application.

    If your school's classes and/or exams overlap with the dates of the conference, you should still consider applying! If you are accepted, we will help you work out an arrangement with your school to allow you to attend.

    If you have any questions about the Student/Volunteer Program or the application process, please send an email to student-volunteers@cppnow.org.

    Applications will be accepted from through February 7th, 2020.

    Decisions will be sent out on February 23rd, 2020.
