New Tattoo Aftercare
The Bandage
Our artists will cover your new tattoo with a bandage.
• The bandage will help the tattoo heal better than usual. Please keep it on for 3-5 days.
• The bandage is waterproof. Feel free to take shower with it.
• You might see a little bit of tattoo ink pile under the bandage after putting it on for a few hours. It's totally fine and please don't worry about it.
• Please remove the bandage if you notice way too much plasma, a skin allergy, or inflammation around the tattooed skin. If ink and blood keeps coming out from the tattoo and accumulates under the bandage, you need to remove the bandage.
• Please remove the bandage with cool water. Scalding hot water will not
only hurt, but it can also fade the ink. After taking it off, please wash and clean your tattooed skin with cold water and liquid anti-bacterial soap. Dial gold hand soap is recommended.
• After removing the bandage, please pat dry the area with paper towel or let it air dry.
• When you are removing the bandage, you might see some ink being pulled off with it. It's completely fine. There is no need to worry about that.
Removing the Bandage
Cleaning and Moisturizing:
• Starting from the first day without the bandage, gently wash your tattoo area twice a day with unscented hand soap and cool water, and then air dry. Do this process for 5 days to a week.
• Apply a layer of aftercare twice a day (Aquaphor/tattoo aftercare/unscented body lotion are what we recommend), or additional times whenever it feels too dry. Do this process for 1 week.
Avoid Workouts
• Please avoid swimming/sauna/jacuzzi/hot yoga for the first month after you get the tattoo.
• Please avoid doing any type of workout that involves stretching, especially the part with the new tattoo, for 10 days-2 weeks.
• Please avoid any kind of cardio exercise. Sweating might cause an infection at the newly tattooed skin.
• You may exercise after it all peels off.
Sun Exposure
• Please prevent the tattoo area from any kind of direct sun exposure for 3 months.
• Wear a sunscreen during the daylight hours and/or cover it up with clothes.
Important
• Please avoid scratching the skin around the tattoo area or touching it too often. Gently patting can help with the itch.
• If your tattoo scabs a bit or develops hard layers, don't worry, it's normal. But never pick, scratch, or peel it.
• Please wear loose or soft clothing while it is healing.
We hope you had a wonderful experience and that you enjoy your new tattoo.
