Our CIVICS PODCAST GRANT was created to increase student civic engagement through podcasting. If selected you, will agree to follow the below requirements:
- All student podcast topics must be related to an issue or cause of concern to your students.
- Students must be allowed to select the topic(s) of their podcast. They may choose to focus on one topic for the whole year, or select multiple topics.
- You must get approval from the Education Fund Program Director of your students' topic(s) and number of episodes planned before you begin.
- Students are required to establish and defend their point(s) of view on their topic(s), and learn to advocate for the changes they would like to see.
- Students are required to conduct interviews with experts, elected officials, and others in positions to enact change.
- Teachers must submit at least 1 episode of their student podcasts.

By submitting this form, I acknowledge that I understand and will comply with the requirements of this grant. The Education Fund will honor all 2023-24 Grant recipients at an awards ceremony in early 2024.
1. I understand that I will receive a total of $500 that must be used to spend up on materials and resources only.
2. I agree to submit my students’ chosen topics to The Education Fund before beginning work on the podcast.
3. I agree to attend training webinar(s) and/or the Idea Expo podcast workshop.
4. I agree to submit at least one example of the media project my students create (audio or audio/video podcast, or short film) to The Education Fund by April 30, 2024 and to share on the platform designated by The Education Fund. I will also submit photographs of my students working on their podcasts.
5. I understand that I will receive and use a pre-paid DIGITAL debit card only for all purchases, and that the card will be used solely for purchases related to my grant project. I acknowledge that any purchases made using any form of payment other than my PEX card will not be reimbursed.
6. I agree to attend and/or review a PEX tutorial and use the PEX app to upload all receipts that will total the amount I receive.
7. I agree to upload all receipts to the PEX App within 24 hours of purchases.
8. I agree to complete the Final Report Form online by April 30, 2024 at the latest.
9. I acknowledge that if the Expense Report (with copies of receipts) and Final Report Form are not submitted to The Education Fund by the due date, I will return the full amount of the Grant to the Education Fund within thirty (30) calendar days, and I will be ineligible for future grants from The Education Fund.
10. I agree to notify The Education Fund of any significant changes that might affect my ability to carry out this grant (i.e. being transferred, materials outlined in the grant are no longer available for purchase, the project is changed significantly).
