  • Please read all scholarship information carefully prior to submitting your application. All winners will be notified on or before the 15th of May 2025.

  • Description:  The Lewis County Fair Royalty Academic Scholarship is primarily a need-based scholarship.

    Details are as follows:           

    Eligibility:  Any past or present member of a Lewis County Fair Royalty court, who has completed their service year in good standing, and is pursuing continuing education, a career technical school, or reasonably comparable training (as approved by the Scholarship Committee upon review of application.)

    Duration: The Lewis County Fair Royalty Scholarship will be a one-time per applicant award. Applicants may apply in as many years as they wish, but may only be awarded once.

    Amount of Scholarship: $250 per scholarship

    Number of scholarships awarded per year: one

    Application Period: Applications will be made available at the Lewis County Extension Office and online.  Applications will be submitted directly to the Fair Board Office, in person or by mail, between Jan 1 and April 1. Late applications will not be considered.

     

    Scholarship payments will be dispersed directly to the institution where continuing education is taking place.

    Recipients will provide school financial department address and proof of enrollment in a timely manner to the dispersing officer (i.e.. Fair Board Administrator), no later than Sept. 1 of the award academic year (for example - 9/1/2025 for Academic Year 2025/2026). Extenuating circumstances (only attending spring semester, technical school can’t accept payment early, etc.) can be considered as an exception, only when absolutely necessary.

  • If selected, you may be asked for documentation to support the data you provide. Likewise, all correspondence and award agreements will be generated from the personal information submitted below. So, please use proper spelling, capitalization and punctuation.

  • IV. Essay

  • Your essay should be 300-500 words. You should address in your essay: your college or continuing education goals and choice of major, what you intend to do with your education, and why a scholarship is important to you. Include any academic and non-academic accomplishments, personal characteristics, or experiences that make you uniquely worthy of scholarship consideration.
