Everyone has more fun when we do our best! An easy way to remember expectations is with an acronym, BSP, that stands for our church, Blessed Sacrament Parish!
B elong Everyone is welcome at God's house! I respect myself, other kids, teens, and adults...everyone! I respect the ones in charge by following the rules they tell me and waiting my turn to talk when they're explaining something. It's ok if I don't want to play with another kid and it's ok if another kid doesn't want to play with me, but it's not ok to be mean to another kid and it's not ok for another kid to be mean to me. I will treat all with kindness, the way that I'd want to be treated! If someone is not treating me kindly, I will...
...S peak up Speaking up could be sharing a fun game or telling someone in charge if I'm worried about something. I can speak up by welcoming a kid who looks left out. I will never say something mean, hit, or kick anyone. Instead, I'll use my words to say how I feel or what I need. I might have to tell someone in charge.
P raise God's house is for praising Him! I thank God and others instead of complain. If I have a problem with something, I politely let the teen or adult in charge know. At a faith formation event, I might have the chance to praise Him in song, dance, or with words (praying at Snack or another time). I will always have the chance to praise God with my actions, which makes Him happiest. So I will treat all with kindness. I might visit the church, where Jesus is in the bread and wine. I'll genufelct (bow or kneel and make the sign of the cross) and whisper because the church is for talking to God and listening to Him.
