Capitol Build Day will take place in Albany on Tuesday, May 21, 2024.

We are currently seeking volunteers to lfill a number of roles. Please check ALL volunteer roles you are willing to serve in to give us the greatest flexibility to organize our volunteer teams most efficiently. We will be providing additional training and resources depending on your role.
Volunteer Roles (please select EVERY role you would be willing to serve in):*

Skilled Construction Volunteer: You will help frame the house and supervise and guide other non-skilled volunteers on site.Non-Skilled Construction Volunteer: You will help frame the house under the guidance of skilled construction volunteers.Sign-In Table: You will welcome and check in lawmakers and volunteers to the site. Ideal for Executive Director and Outreach staff.Habitat Ambassador: You will guide lawmakers/staff and event sponsors through the build site, answer any questions they may have, share Habitat's story, and ensure a positive experience. Ideal for Executive Director and Outreach staff.Volunteer Reception Host: You will welcome guests and help make introductions with Habitat staff at this off-site reception.Lumber Signing Booth: You will station the lumber signing booth and interact with lawmakers and officials that come to sign.Photo Booth: You will station our "photo booth", must have your own camera. Responsible for photographing and maintaining a list of photo subjects.Content Creator/Roving Photographer: You will provide general coverage of the event, including photography and related content for social media (may include live streams). Must have own equipment.Content Support: You will assist the photo booth and content volunteers by keeping notes of photo subjects and helping photographers remain organized.Runner: You will help support the various volunteer teams, may need to bring materials from truck, pass messages between teams, or handle other various pop-up needs on the day.First Aid Tent: Serve as designated first aid event staff. Manage the first aid tent (must have CPR certification) and respond to any injury or health issues.
