The ongoing, historic drought has forced us to postpone Planting Day at Sabat Meadow to spring. The ground is just too hard and dry to make planting our pollinator meadow reasonable at this time.
We thank the 60 people who already signed up to help and we look forward to a vibrant and celebratory Planting Day in Spring 2025. If you wish to be informed about the Spring planting date, we’ll keep you posted if you signup below. Rest assured, we are committed to this project. We just can’t fight Mother Nature.
We will be spreading the locally-generated wood chips on the ground we exposed and shaped into berms, so that is what you will see on the property this winter (unless Mother Nature buries the property with snow; hard to say what the weather will bring.)
