• Thank you for your interest in Alternative Breaks!

ETSU's Alternative Break program aims to foster a society of active citizens by immersing individuals in education, service, and reflection on various topics and societal issues facing the world today.

During Spring Break, ETSU students will partner with the Appalachia Service Project to support the rebuilding of local homes and community centers, contributing to meaningful work within our region. (NOTE: Prior construction experience is not required.) Through this experience, students will deepen their understanding of Appalachia by learning about disaster response and community organizing, while developing the skills to become more engaged community members and active citizens.
