  • DETAILS

The City of Mansfield is looking for artists to create original art to be sold in our large Art Tent at the 2026 Music Alley Festival on May 2. This will be a unique market in that all items for sale in the Art Tent will be displayed as an art exhibition, giving the feel of an exhibit rather than a craft fair. Items to be sold can include: original prints, framed art, custom jewelry, apparel, ceramics, sculptures, etc. The Art Tent will be opened from 4pm to 10pm during Music Alley.

    ADDITIONAL JURIED OPPORTUNITY

Artists are encouraged to submit a single piece per artist to represent the best of the best of their submitted artwork. This artwork will be on display in a separate location and will be voted on by the patrons of Music Alley. The artwork with the most votes will be the winner of their catgory. Prizes will be awarded to the top votes in the following amounts:

    • 2D Best In Show - $100
    • 3D Best In Show - $100
    • Crafts Best In Show- $100

    ACCEPTANCE GUIDELINES

Entities from both the Cultural Arts Department and Heidi Tournoux Studios will make the final decision on acceptance. Acceptances will be made based on family friendliness, quality, originality, adherence to instructions, application and fees received, and availability to attend installation and take down dates. Reviewers will use a blind system to evaluate artwork appropriateness and acceptance, and no special preference will be made, other than the fact that chosen artworks will display well together aesthetically. If you are having trouble uploading your images, please email them to tourniqueart@gmail.com.

    PRESENTATION

Submissions may include 2D and 3D artworks, including but not limited to: original prints (paintings, drawings), framed art, custom jewelry, apparel, ceramics, sculptures, etc. that are ready for purchase and to take home. All themes will be considered.

Hanging artwork must be appropriately framed and ready to hang with D-rings and hanging wire attached. Tiny canvases may be hung with a single D-Ring at the top as long as it is balanced. D-rings should be placed 1/3 of the way down from the top of the canvas so that they do not hang forward on the wall. Works must be family friendly, and will be considered based on space available and best fit with the other artworks submitted. Most hanging works should be less than 10lbs total weight, including frames.

All prints must be framed with at least a matte frame. This will ensure that prints are stable enough for displaying, as well as adding a more finished look to prints for sale.

3D artwork must be able to sit sturdily on the floor, or on a table or pedestal provided by the organizing entities. Any non-stable 3D artwork will be rejected at drop off.

    SALES & FEES

ALL ITEMS FOR SALE MUST INCLUDE A LABEL WITH THE ARTIST NAME & PRICE. Any items without a label will not be allowed to be sold in the Art Tent.

Sale of the artwork will be handled through the Cultural Arts Department point of sale platform. There will be a 30% commission taken on all sales, so be sure to price your artwork with that commission in mind. This commission, as well as the registration fee, will be used for future art receptions, hanging systems for use in new community partnerships for even more shows, and to help defray the cost of the organizers hanging and taking down artwork, and to compensate for time spent making connections with new community members to increase opportunities for our artists.

    STAFFING REQUIREMENT

All selected artists are encouraged to be present at some point (ex. 1 hour) during the event to interact with guests and promote the Art Tent. The City will provide staff to handle sales and security inside the Art Tent. The City will also provide security to monitor the Art Tent from load in until load out at the conclusion of the event.

    ACCEPTANCE

Notification of acceptance will be made by email shortly after the deadline, and no later than Friday, April 3, 2026.
