EVENT WAIVER & MEDIA RELEASE
By registering for or attending this Event, I (“Participant”) agree:
1) Assumption of Risk
I understand in-person events have risks (including injury, illness, property loss, and other unforeseen risks). I voluntarily assume all risks related to attending and participating.
2) Release of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, I release and forever discharge the Organizer and its owners, directors, officers, employees, contractors, volunteers, speakers, sponsors, venue operators, and affiliates (the “Released Parties”) from any and all claims or liabilities arising from my attendance or participation, including claims caused by the negligence of the Released Parties, except where not legally waivable (for example, gross negligence or wilful misconduct).
3) Indemnity
I agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Released Parties from any claims, damages, losses, or legal costs arising from (a) my actions or omissions at the Event, (b) my breach of this waiver, or (c) claims made by others due to my conduct.
4) Medical / Emergency
If I require medical attention, I authorize the Organizer/venue to obtain emergency help. I am responsible for any related costs and release the Released Parties from liability relating to emergency response.
5) Personal Property
I am responsible for my belongings. The Released Parties are not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged property.
6) Media Release (Photo/Video/Audio)
I consent to being photographed/recorded at the Event and grant the Organizer the right to use my image/likeness/voice in recordings for lawful promotional and business purposes, worldwide, in any format, without compensation.
If I do not want to be recorded, I will notify the Organizer in writing before the Event at info@dvaholdings.ca. I understand the Organizer cannot guarantee I will not appear incidentally in background footage.
7) No Professional Advice
Any information shared at the Event is general education only and not legal, tax, investment, medical, or other professional advice. I will seek my own independent advice.
8) Governing Law
This waiver is governed by the laws of Ontario and the applicable laws of Canada. Disputes will be brought in the courts of Toronto, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
