Call to Artists: Adopt a Sun  Roster Application

  • Illuminating Yuma, One Sculpture at a Time

Yuma is the Sunniest Place on Earth—and now, we’re celebrating it like never before.

The City of Yuma Arts and Culture Division invites artists of all backgrounds to be part of the Suns Across Yuma Roster for the Suns Across Yuma Adoption Program, a city wide public art initiative.

Through this Call to Artists, the Yuma Art Center will assemble a roster of original design concepts submitted by artists. Participating adopters, including individuals, organizations, and businesses—will review the roster of available designs and select the artwork they would like to feature on their adopted sun sculpture.

This Call to artists is solely to establish the design roster and does not guarantee selection by participating adopting individuals, organizations and or business. Artists whose designs are selected will be contacted to collaborate with the adopter, finalize the design as needed, and paint or wrap the fiberglass sunsculpture. Artists will receive their project stipend only after their design has been selected by a participating adopter.

Let your creativity shine as bright as the Yuma sun!
