• AFA Tackle - Australian Team Coaching & Staff EOI

  • Coach and Staff Applications Now Open – AFA National Tackle Teams 2026/27

American Football Australia is building the coaching and support staff for its national programs, and we want to hear from you.

Whether you’re a club coach ready to test yourself at the national level, an experienced coordinator who wants to lead a unit, or someone early in your coaching journey looking to learn the standard from the inside, there’s a place in this program for you. We’re appointing across five coaching tiers, from Pathways Coach through to Offensive, Defensive and Special Teams Coordinator, covering every position group on the field.

We’re also recruiting the staff who make a national program run: Strength & Conditioning, Data & Analytics, Team Manager, Inventory & Equipment, Team Medic & Physio, and Player Engagement. These are real roles with real responsibility, and they sit at the table with the coaches.

Apply for the tier that matches where you are now. Selection runs in two stages: an expression of interest first, then a film review (For coaches) and informal interview for shortlisted applicants.

Coordinators are appointed first and help shape the staff beneath them, so the people you’ll work with are the people who chose you.

All roles are volunteer. What we ask for is commitment, coachability and a willingness to meet AFA accreditation and Working With Children Check requirements. What you get is the chance to coach the best players in the country, learn alongside national staff, and build toward the next step in your coaching career.
