The Institute runs 5 annual Residential Seminars for MW students. These take place in Australia, Austria, France, the UK and the US. Seminars run for five days in length. A typical day for an MW at a seminar looks like this:
7:30 - Opening and decanting wines for students tasting
8:30 - Supervising students pouring wines, handing out papers, invigilating the session, tasting the wines
9:00 - Meet with fellow MWs to discuss wines and how you will deliver student feedback
11:00 - Run a feedback session on wines with students
13:00 - Lunch
14:00 - Afternoon theory sessions on various topics run by MWs or outside speakers.
The Residential Seminars are a great opportunity to meet students, socialise with your fellow MWs, listen to various lectures and taste lots of interesting wines. Travel and accommodation costs are covered for MWs participating in these Seminars.
