The DeSoto ISD Calendar Committee has developed two calendar options for consideration for the 2020-2021 school year. After reviewing the three options, please complete the survey to indicate your preference.
For the 2020-2021 school year, you will see that the district plans to adopt a bi-weekly half-day model that incorporates alternative learning experiences for the students of the DeSoto Independent School District. Our rationale is that expanding learning outside the four walls of traditional pedagogical practices provides opportunities for students to grow as learners and acquire critical 21st-century skills they might not access in their current classroom setting. We believe this model has the potential to yield multiple positive outcomes for students and staff.
