The Faculty Summer Institute [FSI] is an interactive and practical opportunity for faculty to collaborate with each other regarding promising practices that promote student success. This year’s FSI will focus on creating a partnership between Chaffey College and local high schools within the Fontana School District in order to find ways to support students from high school to college. Participants will engage in conversations within the disciplines of Math and English to share effective teaching and curriculum approaches from both the high school and college perspectives. During this FSI, participants will explore topics such as teaching to the whole student [e.g., hope/mindset, self-regulation, etc.], engagement strategies, 21st Century skills, inclusive instruction, equity, and discipline-specific Math and English curriculum. By the end of FSI, participants will have numerous tools and strategies to equip both high school and college students for success. Participants will receive a $500 stipend if they attend and participate in all sessions of the FSI.
