The Reel-Yehudah Hebrew Scholarship Eligibility and Guidelines:

Applicants must be able to confirm the following:

• Identify as Hebrew, Israelite, Hebrew Israelite, Ethiopian Jew, Black Jew, Sephardic Jew/Hispanic/Native American/South American, Yemenite, African Jew, or African Hebrew Israelite

• Currently a Junior/ Senior in high school with goals to pursue undergraduate studies, current matriculating college student pursuing graduate studies or specified careers fields listed below or currently accepted into an Israelite Rabbinical School or class/Any Yeshivas /vocational school/certificate program that is related to the specified studies below/indicated on the site and application:

• Seriously committed to the related majors listed on the site with expectations to utilize these skills for the local and global Hebrew community in the diaspora

• Want to pursue a collegiate, graduate, vocational school, and or the Israelite Rabbinical Academy degree/certificate

• Devoted to using their degree to give back to the Hebrew Israelite community locally or globally

• Commit to finishing their degree or certification program within 5 years full-time or 7 years part time

Complete Application includes:

1.) Online, email, or mailed application (Refer to Site for paper Form and Checklist. All mailed forms should be sent to:

2.) Copy of Award Letter from College/University/ Vocational School/ Program

3.) Copy of Financial Award Letter Package, if available. Attach and send in same email to

 4.) Additional information concerning outside funding assistance (Grants, scholarships, etc) ( Provide written statement/copies of any additional scholarship or grant funding, if available)

5.) SAT/ACT/GRE/GMAT/LSAT/MCAT Scores recommended (if it applies)

6.) Personal Statement Submitted to College (Attach and send with this form)

7.) Personal Statement (send as an attached Word Document or PDF in same email with same subject as above ) for your involvement in your local/ global Israelite/Jewish Community and how you plan to contribute to this community during and upon completion of your degree. (Attach with this form) (Statement is at the applicant’s discretion but should include answers to the following questions):

       1.) The meaning of supporting/advocating for the Hebrew/                         Israelite/Black/Jewish Community

       2.) What you will do to contribute to this community (specifically                 how you will apply your studies/degree to achieve this,

       3.) One or more specific issues that exists in this community,

       4.) How you will strategically and respectfully address these                         issues and give back to those who come after you.

8.) Completed Prospective dates survey for travelling to Israel at your own expense or with a Taglit Birthright Group (Year: ________ Month ________) if interested, send in same email as above

9.) Cumulative Transcript (Eligible GPA Ranges from 80%-100%) With Higher GPAs being more heavily considered (Attach with this form send in same email as above)

10.) Completed/ Reviewed RESUME or Curriculum Vitae (if applicable)send in same email with same subject as above  

11.) Attend and be involved in a minimum of 4 Israelite Events including but preferably not exclusive to only Shabbat Services and Holy Day Gatherings (List events, if applicable in Attached resume and/or CV) and send in same email with same subject as above

On a scale from 1 - 10, what would you rate your overall...

The next step is attaching 1-3 letters of recommendation (1 minimum but the more, the better (Please note: If you are submitting 1 letter of recommendation it must include details of applicant's character, educational achievement, and leadership potential, specifically in the Hebrew/ Israelite/ Jewish Community). If submitting 3 letters, each letter should attest to the character, scholarship/educational achievement, and leadership potential.

You should preferably request three letters from three different people (A parent/guardian, Hebrew/ Israelite/ Jewish elder/leader, and a formal teacher/educator/extracurricular mentor etc. (Please note: Letters from peers are also accepted but must be well though out and written and can attest to the previously mentioned criteria). This is a test of your responsibility. We need the name of all the recommenders, their email, and how long you've known them sent to REEL.YEHUDAH@GMAIL.com with the subject in email as "First Name_ Last Name_ RYHSP Application - Recommendation Letters" You can submit/send recommendation letters on their behalf via your email but if you are doing so, the letters must be signed and dated by each recommender.

Recommendation letters sent to us by the recommender do not have to be be signed but it is prefererred if possible.  After you've entered their information, it will be your duty to contact them and ask them to go to the address bellow and fill out their letter of reccomendation. http://form.jotform.us/form/20875248420150 If your recommender will choose to write or email us there recommendations instead of using the form, please check the box below and make sure that they know to send their letter to REEL.YEHUDAH@gmail.com.

Although we prefer online/ emailed letters, we understand that some applicants may need/ prefer to send physical letters. If so please mail as certified mail before the due date to the address below. Please note: all mailed in letters of recommendation must be typed and NOT handwritten:
