My studio offers private piano and voice lessons, music theory and music history classes, beginning voice classes, and Music for Little Musicians. Weekly private lessons are 30, 45, or 60 minutes in length, depending on the student’s musical experience. Theory and history classes are 75 minutes long, scheduled twice a month. Beginning voice classes and Music for Little Musicians are offered in five-week courses, and each class is 30 minutes in length. Tworecitals are held each year (one in December and the other in June), giving students a semi-formal performance opportunity. Students are welcome to participate in OMTA Syllabus as well as other OMTA events.

shows disregard for studio policies.
Materials:
1. Various technique books, method books, and repertoire will be assigned in private lessons. Please purchase one original copy of each to protect copyright laws.
2. Please purchase a metronome to aid in developing a sense of pulse and establish tempos.
3. Intermediate and advanced students are also required to own a good music dictionary (preferably the Harvard Concise Dictionary of Music and Musicians).
4. Recording devices are helpful for private lessons.
5. Materials for classes are included with tuition.
Lesson Preparation:
1. Practice: 30 minutes per day for beginner levels
45 minutes per day for intermediate levels
60+ minutes per day for advanced levels
2. Bring required materials to lessons. These will include technique, repertoire, sight reading, ear training, and/or theory materials, depending on the level of the student.
3. Please practice and come to lessons with a healthy attitude. The ultimate goal is enjoyment in music making and artistry. Lesson goals include progress and improvement with lifelong musicianship skills attained.
4. Parents are welcome to attend lessons/classes at any time. With small children (age 6 and under), parents are strongly encouraged to attend some lessons to enable them to assist their child at home.
Performances/Concerts:
Sharing music with others is a very important part of a musician’s life. I encourage all of my students to perform in various recitals held each year. Students are welcome to perform in addition to these recitals, as well as participate in Syllabus. Attendance of concerts/listening to music regularly is extremely important to musical development.
This should include (but is not limited to) classical, jazz/blues, rock/pop, country/folk, and ethnic music.
What You Can Expect From Me:
I promise to give my students my undivided attention and utmost professionalism. My job is to let students learn and experience music in a way that enables them to be well-rounded musicians. I believe in helping students to develop their talents and interests to the best of my ability. Please do not hesitate to call me with any questions or
concerns.
