Your Excellency

I am writing on behalf of Prageeth Eknaligoda, a journalist and cartoonist who, according to Amnesty International, went missing on 24 January 2010 whilst travelling to his home in Homagama.  I am concerned that Prageeth may have been subjected to enforced disappearance due to his professional activities as a journalist.

Therefore I call on Your Excellency to ensure that a thorough and impartial investigation into the disappearance of Prageeth Eknaligoda is conducted without further delay. 

I also urge Your Excellency to ensure that attacks and abductions of journalists in Sri Lanka are properly investigated, and the perpetrators are brought to justice.
