Chicago Art Department is now accepting applications for their 2025 exhibitions and events calendar! The deadline for submissions is September 30th, 2024, with no application fees. Exhibitions in our North and East Galleries will be awarded $1000 honorariums ($500 of which should go towards curator(s) and $500 towards exhibiting artists) and will span 3 and 2 months respectively, with participating artists receiving 100% of artwork sales.
Successful exhibition submissions will be curated group shows with a civic focus that include multiple artists, strong exhibition materials, and compelling curatorial frameworks. For event submissions, please note that Chicago Art Department does not rent their space; instead, they host events and programs that offer professional advancement to their artist community or connect resident artists to others in the field.
IMPORTANT: As of 2024, Chicago Art Department is no longer reviewing exhibition/event applications on a rolling basis year-round. All programming proposals for 2025 should be submitted by September 30th, 2024.
