The 12th Annual Downtown's BEST Awards, hosted by Downtown Alliance, will celebrate the people, organizations, and places that have made significant contributions to Downtown San Antonio, creating a better place to live, work, shop, play, and be entertained.

Winners will be announced March 30 at the Awards Luncheon, being held this year at the Grand Hyatt.

Before we crown the 2012 winners, we need your help to nominate the best pool of deserving candidates through our Call for Nomination process. You are invited and encouraged to submit a nomination through our online form below.

NOMINATIONS ARE DUE FEBRUARY 24, 2012 by 5pm.

There is no limit to the number of nominations you may submit, however, you must complete a different form for EACH entry.

The fee is $99 for each nomination, $75 if you are a Downtown Alliance member. There is no fee for the Best Urban Storefront or Downtowner of the Year.

• Public/Private Partnership

• Restaurant/Retail
• "Wild Card"–You name the category!

• Downtowner of the Year (no-fee for this category)

*This category is open to all downtown businesses. Take a photo and post it on the Downtown Alliance Facebook page and tell us why you think it is the best urban storefront. The top 10 will be posted on Facebook on March 24. The three businesses with the most "likes" will be voted on at the BEST Awards luncheon, with the winner being announced at the event.

To guide you in your nomination, think of people,organizations, and places that: 

1. Have made a significant contribution to Downtown San Antonio during the past 24 months (January 2010 thru December 2011). The Restaurant/Retail category is not subject to the past 24-month requirement.
2. Demonstrate a long-term commitment to Downtown San Antonio.
3. Displays an entrepreneurial or community spirit that positively supports Downtown San Antonio.

Award winners will be presented at the 2012 Downtown’s BEST Awards Luncheon on Friday, March 30 at the Grand Hyatt. Our media sponsor, The San Antonio Business Journal, will recognize nominees and winners in upcoming issues.

**The Works in Progress category is for projects that are "in the works" and not yet completed but had broken ground before December 31, 2011.

To assist the awards jury in their deliberations, please submit below atleast 2 relevant images, articles or other supporting material. Electronic submission is preferred, however, we understand not all images will be digital. Please indicate whether you will submit the files electronically, via mail, or hand deliver them to our office. Type of files that can be accepted: doc, xls, jpg, jpeg, gif, png, mp3, pdf, ppt, and zip.
