How To Determine Your Garage Door Size
A. Measure the exact width of the opening (at widest point).

B. Measure the exact height of the opening. This should be from the finished floor to the underside of the header.

C. Measure the available space on each side of the opening. The sideroom clearance should be a minimum of 4” for a 2” track and 6” for a 3” track.

D. For headroom, measure the distance from the top of the door opening to the ceiling or underside of the joist whichever is lowest. You need a minimum of 12” headroom. If you intend to install a garage door opener, you will need at least 14” headroom.
