  • Welcome to Secret Paws 2012! Please complete a separate information sheet for each paw participating. If you are participating as a family, please complete one sheet only.

  • ...
  • Only paws who have pawrents 18 years of age or older are able to participate in Secret Paws.
  • General Information:

  • Please provide your name and profile number. If you are playing as a family, please select ONLY ONE of your profiles to be the "Spokespaw" for your family. The Spokespaw will be the the one the Secret Paw Leaders will communicate with through the year.
  • Please list your additional Paw names, profile numbers and type of paw (ie. cat or dog) here. If you would like a separate Secret Paw for each, please do not forget to submit a SEPARATE Information sheet for them.
  • Contact & Spending Amounts:

  • The large majority of paws will be located in the US, but we do a have few paws from Canada and overseas. Postage to these areas can be higher, however, it can be a lot of fun to send to a paw in another country. If you are a paw signing up from outside the US, it may difficult to match you with a paw from your country.
  • Are you an Angel?

  • We know that due to things beyond our control, it may be necessary for paws to drop out of Secret Paws. We would like to have a list of paws who we can draw on to be our Angels. These are paws who would be willing to send to  an additional Secret Paw, if needed.

  • The Rules and Guidelines can be found on the Secret Paws Group page. Please ensure you have read them before submitting this form.  Here are a few key points for you to remember before clicking I ACCEPT below:

Secret Paws is loads of fun but it requires ~COMMITMENT~.  If you are not comfortable with the word ~COMMITMENT~ , Secret Paws is not for you.  This is a YEAR LONG program so please participate for the whole year not a few months.

Your paw spends time choosing your gifts and cards (and money too).  They are anxious to hear that their chosen items arrived and that you liked them.  You should value the time and money they spent by allotting time to post a thank you journal in a prompt manner.  If you absolutely cannot spare 10 minutes to write a journal, then you should send your paw an e-mail.

On that same topic, senders should be understanding that pawrents are busy and you should allow one week from the time you expect your package arrived for your paw to e-mail you or post a journal.  Please try to be understanding.  If you have a problem, it should be handled PRIVATELY in communication with your group leader - not by posting public journals.

Remember that your paw may be sending you e-mails or e-cards so you should make an effort to check your Secret Paws e-mail address on a regular basis.

If you are going on vacation for more than a few days, you have an illness or hospitalization, or computer problems that will prevent you from being in contact with your paw, you should notify your group leader.   If your home computer is down, perhaps your pawrent could use their smart phone, a work computer, or a friend or relative's computer.  Your paw's happiness and peace of mind may depend on it!

Know that your Secret Paw will be asked to complete an assessment of your performance as a Secret Paw so you should treat your paw as you would want to  be treated.  If you cannot fulfill your obligations, you should officially drop out by notifying your group leader.  This will allow them to assign a new paw to take your place.  It is not polite (and doesn't create a satisfying experience for the paw to whom you are sending) to continue to recieve gifts while you are not sending any to your paw.
