Solar 1 Description: The Solar 1 Workshop will offer an informative, instructive, and "enlightening" opportunity to learn the skills in organizing, developing, and establishing a project partnership with a community in another part of the world. Not only will participants be illumined with insights about forming nurturing mission teams, but they will also learn how to evaluate potential locations, to manage a solar project, and to negotiate a covenant agreement with a partner-in-need. Come and join us as we seek to reflect the light of the Lord. ONLY ONE PERSON FROM A TEAM HAS TO TAKE THIS CLASS.
Solar 2 Description: Students in Solar 2 will learn to assemble a small (1 - 6 photovoltaic panels) off-grid solar energy system for use in an in-country institutional setting. Emphasis is on systems to power clean water systems, but other applications such as lighting will be included. The class includes hands-on experience with SUTS's solar trailer, assessing the electrical load, understanding system components, system design, and safety and maintenance. Instructors in Solar 2 have experience with construction of U.S. and Haitian systems. ONLY ONE PERSON FROM A TEAM HAS TO TAKE THIS CLASS.
