SPAY/NEUTER
DOGS:
Weigh up to 45 lbs. - $165
Weigh 45 - 80 lbs. - $215
We cannot provide service to dogs that weigh over 80 pounds. If you need help making arrangements directly with a low cost spay/neuter clinic for dogs over 80 pounds, text Jessica at 865-386-8628.
CATS - $100
Kittens and Puppies must be at least 8 weeks old and weigh 3 pounds.
SURGERY SURCHARGES
$25 for any female that is in heat or is pregnant
VACCINATIONS
$15 - Rabies (both dogs and cats)
If you think your animal has been vaccinated, you must show proof of vaccination at check-in. If you do not have the certificate, you will have to pay at check-in for a Rabies vaccination. This is a State law. Puppies and Kittens must be of 12 weeks of age to be eligible for this vaccine.
$15 - Bordetella (dogs only)
Commonly known as Kennel Cough. If your dog goes to public places or gets groomed, you want this vaccine to protect them!
$15 - Da2PP (dogs only)
Da2PP or also known as the DHPP vaccine protects dogs from four serious diseases: distemper, adenovirus type 2, parvovirus, and parainfluenza. Distemper and the Parvovirus can be fatal in unvaccinated dogs.
$15 - FVRCP (cats only)
FVRCP protects cats from three serious diseases: feline viral rhinotracheitis (FHV-1), feline calicivirus (FCV), and feline panleukopenia (FPV). These diseases can be fatal in cats.
$15 FeLV (cats only)
This vaccine is to protect against feline leukemia. If you cat goes outside, this vaccine is highly recommended.

REQUIREMENTS
Kittens and Puppies
Must be at least 8 weeks old and weigh 3 pounds to be spay/neutered and to start their first round of vaccinations. Please note that kittens and puppies require 4 rounds of vaccinations to be completely protected so if they have never been vaccinated, they would receive the first round of Da2PP and Bordetella for their first round and then need to come back to the Shelter every two weeks for their boosters. Kittens and Puppies can receive the Rabies vaccine at 12 weeks of age.
PAYMENT POLICY
Due to high demand and limited slots per month, reservations must be paid in advance and are NON-REFUNDABLE. Refunds only offered if we cannot accommodate the date selected.
DAY OF SURGERY
Drop off is 7am at the Shelter. Please note this is the Humane Society of Jefferson County shelter loction at 822 Epco Drive in Danrdige (not the C.A.R.E. County Shelter). Pick-up will be the same day. We will text you when we are headed back to the Shelter.
If there are any complications or discoveries during surgery, the Veterinarian will call you to let you know. Please keep your phone on standby.
Owners must provide a carrier for their animal to ensure safe transport.
Animals that are not picked up the same day as surgery will be placed in boarding at the shelter and the owner will be responsible for boarding charges.
