Commercial Truck Driving Document Upload.

Thank you for your interest in the Commercial Truck Driving program. The Commercial Truck Driving certificate program provides basic training in the principles and skills of commercial truck operations. The program is based on the definition of a truck driver as one who operates a commercial motor vehicle of all different sizes and descriptions on all types of roads. At the completion of the program, the student is administered the Georgia CDL Skills Exam.

Statements of Understanding
Only complete document submission forms will be considered for session selection. This requires completion of this online document submission forms *AND* electronic submission of your Class-C Driver's License, Class A CDL Learner's Permit, and your DOT Physical Card - all within a single document submission form. All licenses and DOT Physical must be valid through session completion.*

Students 18-20 years old may enroll in the program; however, they are only allowed to drive a commercial truck in the state of Georgia.*

If selected for a CDL session, applicants will have a specific timeframe to complete an online Wiregrass Tech application. Additional residency information may be requested. A $25 application fee is required for new applicants.*

If selected, applicants will be required to register for and clear the Federal Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse Background Check. Failure to complete the Clearinghouse by the deadline or a result of prohibited on the query will result in removal from the session list.*

If selected, students registered for the program should begin the financial aid process immediately by applying for Financial Aid using the GSFAPPS HOPE application (GSFAPP online), beginning the WIOA application process by completing the WIOA Questionnaire (optional), and setting up Nelnet payment plan for remaining balance once registered for classes, if needed.*

If selected, students registered for the program must submit copy of Learner’s Permit and DOT Physical Card to the instructor on the 1st day of class. Applicants must also submit a 7-year Satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) from the DMV to the course instructor on the first day of class. This must not be requested more than 30 days before the first day of class: Must not have in excess of 8 current points; Must not have 4 or more moving violations in one year; and Must not have any DUI’s within the previous 3 years*

The Commercial Truck Driving Program is 8 weeks long, with day and evening sessions on both the Coffee and Valdosta campuses.

The Day session is held Mon-Thurs 8:00AM-4:00PM

The Evening session is held Mon-Thurs 5:00PM-10:00PM & Sat 8:00AM-4:00PM
