T-Shirt FAQ
1. Why a Reservation Fee?
TheOneRing.net is a not-for-profit organization who, by its very nature, does not have a large sum of money to spend on producing costly t-shirts. In the past, we produced shirts up front without taking reservations and found we had a lot of odd sizes and inventory left over. This results in a significant loss of money for the site, and ultimately hurts our ability to stay online.
So now, we are hoping with this reservation system, to know ahead of time exactly what quantity of shirts we should produce. This allows us to then make those shirts, and a few extras, with little financial hardship for the site.
For you, this allows us to produce shirts more affordably and sell them to you for a better price.
2. Once I place my reservation, how long until I get my shirt?
The deadline to place a reservation is April 6th 2011. Once that deadline has passed we will go into production on the shirts which is estimated to take two weeks. That means on April 25th we should be emailing you about your reservations with instructions on how to pay for the remainder of your shirt and get it shipped to you asap!
3. Does the $20/$25 cost of the shirt include the $5 reservation fee?
Yes! When the shirts are ready to ship to you, you will be asked to pay the remaining balance on your shirt. For most of you that will be $15. For those of you ordering XXL or larger, it will be $20.
4. Why must I use PayPal?
PayPal allows us to offer fans the option to pay by all credit card, debit card and even your bank account. If you don't have a PayPal account, and you do not want to have one, fear not! You do NOT need to set up a PayPal account to place a reservation. Click here to view how the 'Don't have a PayPal account' payment option looks during the reservation process.
5. Is my reservation fee refundable?
Your fee can be refunded until April 5th 2011. After that however, we will be going into production on the shirts and will not be able to refund your fee. To cancel your reservation before April 5th 2011, please simply email us directly at shop@theonering.net.
6. Are there plans to make more shirts and additional designs?
Yes! Should this new system go well, we are hoping to offer new designs every few months. We have a backlog of some great concepts just waiting to be released to the world!
7. Where does the profit collected from the sale of the shirts go?
TheOneRing.net is a rather large website that requires a good chunk of change to keep online. Hosting and bandwidth fees can get quite expensive. The majority of our profits go to maintaining our website services. Any extra is used for events like Comic-Con or Dragon-Con, and after that, we donate to charity. It is important to know, that TheOneRing.net does not have any paid staff members. From the owners to the volunteers, no single person gets paid for their work on the site.
