Timothy Buck
I teach classical violin using a modified Suzuki method and have experience teaching children as young as 5 years old and adults of all ages. When teaching, I work with my students to understand how they best learn and we will approach concepts from that angle. I am patient and view all of my students as unique, capable individuals regardless of how fast or slowly they pick up concepts. Parents are always welcome in lessons.
About me: I studied violin at Western Washington University from 2013 to 2017 under Walter Schwede. While there I often held the concertmaster seat in the University Symphony Orchestra and was a regular member of the Scholarship String Quartet. I've played with a number of groups including the Bellingham Symphony Orchestra, the Pacific Northwest Opera, and the Seattle Philharmonic Orchestra. I've participated in the Marrowstone Music Festival, was a camp counselor at the Kitsap Youth Summer Symphony, and was concertmaster for several years of WWU Summer Theater productions.
My rates are $25 a lesson to be paid upfront in packages of two or four (bi-weekly or weekly) and I offer a complimentary 30 minute session if you'd like to discuss equipment, repertoire, expectations, and see if it's a good fit before making the commitment.
Please reach out if you're at all interested!
