As a nonprofit arts organization, we strive to create and foster a climate that supports arts appreciation, participation, and education. While we are a strong team here at UVA, we would not be able to provide art education, exhibitions, special events, and other programming without the help of our volunteers. By becoming a volunteer with UVA, you become an active participant in supporting and promoting arts and culture in our community!

Open Studio Volunteer - I can open the studio for blocks of time for students to access the studio
Kiln Volunteer - I can help with firing and kiln repairs
Umpqua Plein Air Volunteer
Event Prep: Poster Distribution, putting together welcome packets, etc.
Artist Social Check In - Welcoming and checking in artists, preparing the brunch, clean up, etc.
Receiving Artwork - Assist artists in the delivery of the artwork, check their names off, place artwork in gallery for juror
Opening Reception - Assist in setting up for the opening reception with bites and sips, and with the clean-up.
Young Artist's en Plein Air - Help support UVA Staff at specific paint-out locations.
Other Major Events
Opening Reception (General) - I am available to help prep food, refill drinks/food on the tables, and clean-up.
Fundraising Events - Setting up/tearing down, providing assistance to UVA Staff.
Historical Building & Campus Grounds Support
Specialty Work: Carpentry, Repairs, etc.
General Cleanup - UVA Grounds Clean Up, Garden Projects, Exterior Building Clean Up
Youth Arts Education
Art Express Volunteer - I can bring Arts Express kits into the schools and deliver short lessons to kids in grades K-5
Art Express Kit Manager
After-School Teen Studio Volunteer - I can hang out in Studio East and make art with teens on Wednesdays from 2:30-4:30
Teen Clay Class Volunteer - I know enough about clay/The Clay Place at UVA to help an instructor teach beginning clay classes to teens on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4-6pm
Saturday Art Workshop Volunteer - I'm available between 10am-2pm on Saturdays to help with kids' classes
Spring Break Camp Volunteer - I'm available between 9am-4pm, Tuesday-Thursday, to help camp instructors deliver lessons and keep an eye on kiddos during their lunch break
Summer Camp Volunteer - I'm available 9am-4pm, Tuesday-Thursday, to help camp instructors deliver lessons and keep an eye on kiddos during their lunch break
SAF Youth Zone Volunteer - I would be willing to take a shift in the youth zone at UVA to help kids with crafts or keep an eye on our young artist vendors
