  • The Daily Pennsylvanian is looking for witty, dedicated and creative people to draw weekly cartoons for one of the nation’s best and most widely-read college newspapers. Being an opinion artist requires time and dedication, as well as the ability to make a point using few words.

Please complete the following application if you wish to apply. Email Opinion Editor-elect Anjali Tsui at tsui.anjali@gmail.com if you have any questions.

  •  -
  • Introduction

Please submit a brief introduction explaining what you believe makes a good opinion artist, why you want to be an artist and what makes your art unique. It should be no longer than 250 words.

  • Art Ideas

Please submit a list of four opinion art ideas. Dont be general. Tell us what you want to draw, and be as specific as possible. We want details.

Check out past DP opinion art here.

  • Sample Art

Please submit TWO sample pieces of opinion art. One of them must be topical (it must deal with a relevant campus or community issue), and the other can be on any subject you choose. They should not have been previously submitted to or printed in any publication, including the DP. Don’t put any information on the art (such as your name or signature).

Please submit both pieces of art below. If you are unable to do so (we may experience storage issues), please email the samples to applications@dailypennsylvanian.com with a subject line that includes your full name and the words "Artist Application." If you are unable to scan and upload your art, you may also send your sample pieces of art by mail (be sure to include your name) to the following address.
