• Not Just Another Trip to the Zoo: Enriching Formal STEM Education Through Informals

  • In the cities and counties of Colorado, parks, zoos, museums and other informal educational entities abound.  However, connecting informal and formal educational entities to effectively enrich student curriculum and add to student growth can be a challenge.

The University of Colorado Denver is hosting a series of STEM education webinars, the first of which aims at connecting district administrators and math/science coordinators with those working in the informal education community to generate a discussion on best practices in incorporating this type of hands on education for students.  The goal is to support district educators in learning how to best capitalize on the added value of utilizing informal education entities.
