• 1870 Farm Summer Staff Application

This is it - here's where you tell us all about yourself and what you'll bring to the table for another amazing summer at 1870! Answer all questions thoroughly and be sure to be yourself. If this is your first time applying for a job: congrats! We want to make this a valuable learning experience for you. To that end, we ask that caregivers do not complete applications for their children.
  • All 1870 Summer Staff roles are very physically active and largely outdoors in a farm setting. All staff will need to:

    • work outdoors in intense / frequently changing weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, etc.)
    • traverse uneven terrain (hills, rocky fields, mud, etc.)
    • move heavy items, such as feed bags and hay bales (typically weighing up to 50 pounds)
    • be comfortable working closely with livestock (large animals such as alpacas, goats, and pigs)
    • monitor their wellbeing and prepare for work appropriately (getting adequate rest, staying hydrated, dressing for weather and terrain)
  • Tell us about yourself!

Your answers to the questions below will give us a picture of who you are and what role may be a good fit for you at 1870 Farm.
  • References

You are required to provide contact information for two people to serve as references: people who can speak to your work ethic and character. These people must be adults over 21 years of age who know your ability to work independently and in a team setting. They cannot be related to you. If you're stumped on who to ask - think about past teachers, counselors or any adult who you trust to tell us how you would be a great fit at 1870 Farm.
