Legacy Dog Rescue is a foster only based rescue - we do not have a facility - by fostering a dog for Legacy, you are agreeing to foster the dog until adoption. Please initial below your understanding.*

Although Legacy Dog Rescue Of Ohio, Inc does its best to temperament test dogs that come into our program, we do not know the history of the dogs in our rescue. You are required to immediately contact a representative of Legacy Dog Rescue of Ohio, Inc if your foster dog displays any sort of aggressive behavior to include biting or snapping at other animals or people no matter how minor it may appear. As a foster home you will be required to do the following: 1) Comply with rescue guidelines for proper care of pet. 2) Socialize the pet to the best of your ability and communicate the progress to the rescue. 3) Transport the pet back and forth to vet appointments at Legacy's vet. 4) Teach basic house manners to the dog to the best of your ability. 5) Contact the rescue prior to obtaining veterinary care, unless it is an emergency. 6) Provide bedding, toys and other basic items for the foster dog. 7) Respond promptly to communications from the rescue so meetings with potential adopters can be made. 8) Attend animal friendly rescue events with your foster dog as often as possible. 9) Foster dogs are to Never be off-leash, unless in your secure fenced yard. 10) All small dogs need to be on a harness instead of a collar - harness will be provided. . Legacy Dog Rescue of Ohio, Inc will provide the following to each foster home: 1) All approved veterinary care. 2) Monthly flea and heartworm preventative and other necessary medications. 3) Food to include any special diet foods. . Once your application is received and reviewed, a representative of the rescue will contact you. Legacy Dog Rescue of Ohio, Inc and its volunteers can not be held responsible for any injury or property damage incurred by your foster pet. As a volunteer foster home, you accept full responsibility and expenses for said damages that could occur while the foster dog is in your care. Please initial your understanding of this previous notice.*
