The judging panel for a mock trial includes two roles:
1) The Presiding Judge sits behind the bench and runs the courtroom. The Presiding Judge typically does not fill out a score sheet unless there are not enough Scoring Judges. Sitting judges or attorneys with significant mock trial judging experience are given priority for the Presiding Judge role.
2) Scoring Judges sit in the jury box and fill out score sheets. Scoring Judges can be attorneys or non-attorneys. There are generally three Scoring Judges on a panel.
