    Setting Project Requirements

    READ and Answer

    What is a Project plan?
Before a designer begins work in Photoshop they will first have produced a Project Plan. A project plan is very similar to a project proposal, it details what resources are available to the team and how they will be used as well as which member of the team is responsible for each task that needs to be complete.

    Designer responsibilities
Throughout the completion of a project it is important that each designer keeps a record of their expenses and time that they have spent on the project. Most artists work on a freelance basis, meaning that they charge their client per hour, the client would also be expected to pick up the cost of any expenses incurred. Accurate notes after client meetings is also important as these will explain what the client wants and also acts as a reference to prove who agreed to complete each task.

During the initial design stage the designers will be responsible for providing sketches of what they anticipate the final piece to look like. This can then form the basis of discussions with the client. A specification and scope will also be produced by the designers, this will detail what the designers believe they have been asked to do and list what they hope to achieve by the end of the project.

    Client responsibilities
The client is responsible for identifying the demographics of the product being designed. Demographics are the common factors that a target audience will have, this can include looking at their age range, interests, occupation, and gender.

It is also the responsibility of the client to identify the goals of the project. Project goals could include increasing sales for a particular product by creating a new advertisement or achieving a well-edited image for a specific purpose.
