Here at Central Valley Scholars, we understand the obstacles and discriminations Queer identifying students face in both their communities and education systems. As advocates for the LGBTQ+ community, we have created the first-ever LGBTQ+ scholarship in the Central Valley as an initiative to give students with these identities the opportunity to share their stories. We want Queer students in the Central Valley to understand that they are an important part of our community, and their voices should be heard. We are not looking for the student with the highest academic achievements, nor are we looking for students with impressive resumes; but rather, this scholarship was established to give LGBTQ+ students in the Central Valley the opportunity to share their story and experience while growing up with their Queer identity. Use this scholarship to tell us your story and how it was growing up in the Central Valley as a Queer individual.
