BBYO’s commitment to Israel is both rooted in our history and ingrained deeply in our values. The Aleph Zadik Aleph and the B’nai B’rith Girls are prioritizing Israel education, awareness and informed advocacy through our Speak UP for Israel and Explore Israel initiatives, and by sending more Jewish teens to Israel.
AIPAC is one of the nation’s most influential lobbies. BBYO is proud to be one of AIPAC’s youth partners and we excited to be sending strong leaders that are politically minded, pro-Israel teens to this year’s AIPAC Policy Conference.
During AIPAC Policy Conference, thousands of Jewish adult leaders from around the world committed to the strength and endurance of the State of Israel and the Global Jewish community will gather for this important annual meeting in Washington, D.C.
The conference includes over 100 unique sessions facilitated by the world’s leading political and military experts about Israel’s current challenges and achievements. Programming will feature more than half of the House of Representatives and Senate powerfully displaying their continued commitment to Israel – and is one of the largest gatherings of members of Congress, second only to the State of the Union Address. In past years, President Barack Obama, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and many Presidential candidates have made it a priority to make an appearance.
If you are interested in attending AIPAC Policy Conference 2020 (Saturday, February 29th - Tuesday, March 3rd), please complete this form by Friday, January 10 @ 11:59 PM in your local time zone.
Costs:
AIPAC is subsidizing the student conference fee down to $299 for our BBYO leaders - unfortunately, we do not have additional scholarship to help with this fee.
Student delegates will be a part of the BBYO Hotel Block for $300 per delegate for three nights (February 29, March 1, and March 2) - please note that AIPAC Policy Conference starts early in the AM on Sunday, so delegations arrive on Saturday February 29). There will be four students of the same gender per hotel room.
Lunch and dinners is not covered in the registration fee as well as transportation to Washington D.C.
Once accepted as a BBYO delegate, we will provide you with final details about travels, accommodations and the program. Every delegate is responsible for their travel, hotel, subsidized registration and lunch/dinner while with the BBYO Delegation at Policy Conference.
Because BBYO has limited space, the teens chosen to represent BBYO -- and transitively, the Jewish teen community -- will be held to the highest standards of conduct. You will be expected, furthermore, to bring back the lessons you have learned and facilitate an ongoing commitment to Israel through BBYO Speak UP programming. This program will provide you with skills and knowledge to advocate for Israel and lobby at your local political offices.
If you, your parents, or teachers have any questions about the program, please contact Nitzan Ben Shaya.
Hope to see you in the U.S. Capital!
Jill, Glenn and Nitzan
