  • The Minority Construction Council (MCC) is a non-profit organization that provides advocacy, contracting, development and networking opportunities to minority contractors across the state of Connecticut. More information about the Council can be found at www.mccforct.org.

     

    Scholarship Award Eligibility
     

    To be considered for a scholarship, the applicant must:

     ·        Be a high school senior of ethnic minority decent

    ·        Provide a sealed high school transcript from your school

    ·        Have a GPA of at least (example 2.5 on a 4.0 scale)

    ·        Enrolled in one of the following trades:

    Architecture, Carpentry, Concrete, Electrical, HVAC, Masonry, Plumbing, Heating and Cooling, Automotive Technology, Diesel & Heavy Duty Equipment Repair

  • To be considered for this scholarship, a completed application packet must be submitted by Monday, April 25, 2022 and must include all the following:


    1. Scholarship Application (Must be typed).

    2. Two (2) letters of recommendation completed by a Professor / Counselor/ Dean. Letter must include length of time known applicant; in what capacity; additional comments regarding intellectual ability, motivation, interpersonal skills, etc. Please include contact information.

    3. Official school transcript.

    4. Write an essay addressing the following topic: “What do you consider to be the most pressing societal problem you face today as a minority student and why?” Your essay must be double spaced and a minimum of 300 words.

    5. From a financial standpoint, in one or two paragraphs, what impact would this scholarship have on your education? (State any special personal or family circumstances affecting your need for financial assistance.)
