  • Please note the following updates (ACC 2026):

    The process for entering the Area Contests consists of the following steps. Note change in order of completion from last year.

    Step 1: Complete this form to verify contestant information and pay contest entry fees according to the deadlines below.

    Step 2: Enter your ensemble details in the Contest Entry system. You will receive an email with instructions about how to complete this step approximately five days after submitting HAR-061.  Contact info@harmonyinc.org if you do not receive this email within one week of paying your contest entry fees.

    Step 3: Submit your Song Registration form(s) for any songs you intend to perform in the contest thirty (30) days prior to the contest.

    If, after you receive the Step 2 instructions, you have issues completing the Contest Entry DO NOT CONTACT the BHS Member Center. Instead, complete a support ticket request.  You will be contacted by Administrative Judge Category Specialist, Linda Muise to resolve any issues.  Please note that your issue may not be resolved immediately.  Tickets will be addressed in order of contest dates.  Area 6 issues will be addressed first, Area 2 issues second, Area 3 issues third, etc.  Please be patient.

  • All quartets competing in the upcoming Area contests must submit this form along with their $40 quartet contest entry fee (US dollars or Canadian equivalent) by the contest entry deadline. Any entries or payments received after the contest entry deadline, but before the late entry deadline, must include an additional $20 (US or Canadian equivalent) to enter the quartet contest. Quartets entering late will sing first in the contest as required by the contest rules. NO entries or payments will be accepted after the late entry cutoff date.

  • Contest Entry Information

  • Please type the quartet name exactly as it was sent for Quartet Registration, i.e. case sensitive and any punctuation marks.

  • Note: A quartet may compete only in its home Area unless permission to compete Out of Area has been sought from the International Contest & Judging Committee by March 1st and that request approved by same. If the members of the quartet represent more than one Area, the quartet must declare one of those Areas as its home Area when registering with Harmony, Inc. (Official Harmony, Inc. Contest Rules, Article I: Eligibility, A. Quartet, 4.)

    Judy Comeau Forever Young Award

    Awarded to: The highest-scoring senior quartets

    Eligibility: Each member of a quartet must be age 55 or older and the sum of the accumulated ages of the quartet must be equal to or exceed 230 years. The age requirement must be met on the basis of birthdays reached on or before the day of the contest.

    Awarded to: The highest-scoring senior quartets

    Eligibility: Each member of a quartet must be age 55 or older and the sum of the accumulated ages of the quartet must be equal to or exceed 230 years. The age requirement must be met on the basis of birthdays reached on or before the day of the contest.

    The Ones To Watch

    Awarded to: The highest scoring youth quartet

    Eligibility: A youth quartet is defined as all four members must be registered as Youth Members of Harmony, Inc. (age 25 and under).

    Youth Quartet Award

    Awarded to: The highest scoring youth quartet

    Eligibility: A youth quartet is defined as all four members must be registered as Youth Members of Harmony, Inc. (age 25 and under).

    Awarded to: The highest-scoring senior quartets

    Eligibility: Each member of a quartet must be age 55 or older and the sum of the accumulated ages of the quartet must be equal to or exceed 230 years. The age requirement must be met on the basis of birthdays reached on or before the day of the contest.

    Golden Girls Award

    Awarded to: The highest-scoring senior quartets

    Eligibility: Each member of a quartet must be age 55 or older and the sum of the accumulated ages of the quartet must be equal to or exceed 230 years. The age requirement must be met on the basis of birthdays reached on or before the day of the contest.

    Major Minor Award

    Awarded to: The highest scoring youth quartet

    Eligibility: A youth quartet is defined as all four members must be registered as Youth Members of Harmony, Inc. (age 25 and under).

  • Terms & Conditions

  • The above named quartet:

    • certifies that we have read and agree to abide by the Harmony, Inc. Contest Rules.
    • certifies that we have complied with the copyright law in the acquisition and learning of our contest songs/arrangements.
    • understands that all contestants who will perform in Harmony, Inc. contests must be members "in good standing" with their relavent organizations to participate in contests; i.e. for Harmony, Inc. members, this means that all International, Chapter or Associate, and Area dues are paid, for MBHA all dues for participants. We certify that all members who will perform with our quartet for this contest are members in good standing.
    • certifies that this quartet is currently registered with Harmony, Inc. or Mixed Barbershop Harmony Association (for mixed quartets).
    • agrees that it is the responsibility of the contestant to provide, assemble, and/or set up any special equipment needed such as riser chairs, wheelchairs, etc. 
    • understands that contest entry fees are non-refundable to contestants once submitted.
  • The above named quartet competing outside of Harmony, Inc. Areas:

    • certifies that we have read and agree to abide by the Harmony, Inc. Contest Rules.
    • certifies that we have complied with the copyright law in the acquisition and learning of our contest songs/arrangements.
    • understands that all contestants who will perform in Harmony, Inc. contests must be members "in good standing" with their relevent organizations to participate in contests; i.e. for Harmony, Inc. members, this means that all International, Chapter or Associate, and Area dues are paid, for MBHA all dues for participants.   • Song Registration

    Prior to competing on the contest stage the quartet will need to submit HAR-082 Contestant Song Registration Form for copyright and licensing, available on the Harmony, Inc. website. You must provide the title, publisher/copyright holder, composer, and song/medley arranger information for each song or partial song (as in a medley) as indicated on the music, as well as a copy of the first page of each song. If the composer/publisher information is not returned or if the information given is found to be incorrect, following adequate research by the ICJ Committee, the quartet may be disqualified.

    Please note that HAR-082 (preferred) submission deadline is thirty (30) days prior to Area Convention & Contests as indicated below.

    Please list songs in order of most likely to sing so that clearances can be prioritized as such.

    You may submit as many songs as necessary if you have not yet finalized your selection(s).

    Note: You may submit more than one HAR-082 form. Please be sure there are no duplicates.

  • Payment instructions will be emailed once this form is completed.  If you do not receive the payment instructions please contact Corporate Office, info@harmonyinc.org

    Please note that contest entry fees must be received by contest entry deadline. Any payments received after the contest entry deadline must include an additional $5 (US or Canadian equivalent) per member. No entries or payment will be accepted after the late entry cutoff date.

    If mailing, payments must be postmarked by the Area's Contest Entry Deadline to avoid late fees and prior to the late entry cutoff date to be accepted.

    The Bank of Canada closing exchange rate is shown below. Select the type of exchange required, then copy all digits of the CAD figure into the field labeled "Exchange rate." The form will use that figure to calculate the total due in your selected currency.
