Completing this application is a step in the process to acquiring a puppy from Van Dutches Dobermans, LLC, but it does not a guarantee I'll get a puppy from this or any future litter. While it's unlikely, the breeder reserves the right to refuse any placement at any time. Also, the Breeder, (Van Dutches Dobermans, LLC) Reserves the right to first pick of any litter.
APPROVAL AND DEPOSIT: I will review applications within a week or two of receipt. Applications are processed in the order they are received. If your home is a good fit, I'll notify you. We breed sporadically , so we will only accept deposits when puppies are expected or actually available. During pregnancy, approved homes will receive a notification to make a nominal commitment ($250) deposit on a puppy (or 50% the cost of the puppy if electing not to crop). Please make this deposit as soon as possible of the approval notification. The deposit carries over towards the full price of the dog. Communicate with us on variances, we are understanding.
YOUR PICK OF PUPPY: Puppies will be assigned in deposit order by the first or second preference of the depositor as indicated on the application. If neither of your choices are available, you may elect another puppy from the litter. We ask that you make a choice within 48 hours of notification since there may be other families waiting for a chance to choose. Should you elect to not take a puppy from the litter, the deposit may be forwarded to an upcoming litter. Please communicate any issues with us, again we are understanding.
GOING HOME: We cannot hold puppies for extended times; it is critical for their social development that the litter departs within a reasonable timeframe. If you have a big vacation planned or have events that would conflict with a young puppy, please know puppies cannot be boarded in a kennel until they have received their full immunizations and their rabies vaccination which cannot be done until 3 months of age. Any issues, please contact us in advance to work out a solution.
CONTRACT: We have a contract and we will not place a puppy without a signed contract. We believe it's the professional thing to do to memorialize our obligations to each other on paper so there are no questions later, and for that reason it's a bit lengthy. If you have questions about specific terms, you need to contact us prior to picking up your puppy. Signing of the contract will take place at time of pickup.
SPAY/NEUTER: We recommend delaying spay/neuter to 2 years old unless your full AKC breeding rights approved prior to going home (at minimum 1 year old for males, and about 2 months after first heat for females). Breeding females should be spayed once their breeding days are over, to prevent pyometra.
REGISTRATION PAPERS: Our excellent family companions do come with registration papers to AKC registry. You are free to register your dog with the AKC under Limited or Full registration status (only as previously designated with Van Dutches Dobermans, LLC) should you desire to enter events and/or competitions. Both Limited and Full registered dogs can compete fully in all AKC events.
