As a volunteer:
I certify that I have never been convicted of animal cruelty, neglect or abandonment.
I recognize that my services are provided strictly in a voluntary capacity, and without any compensation, salary, employee benefits, including employment insurance programs, worker’s compensation or payment of any kind.
I agree not to represent The Pas and Area Animal Shelter outside my capacity as a volunteer.
I agree to be present for scheduled shifts and to carry out duties promptly and reliably.
I agree to familiarize myself and comply with The Pas and Area’s policies and procedures to follow signage and directives of shelter supervisors.
I agree to hold absolutely confidential all information that may be obtained, directly or indirectly, concerning clients, animals, staff and board members. I agree not to seek to obtain confidential information from clients or others.
I, for myself, and any minor child who will attend the shelter, HEREBY WAIVE AND RELEASE, indemnify, hold harmless and forever discharge The Pas and Area Animal Shelter (hereafter called TPAAS) and its agents, employees, committee members, and volunteers of and from any and all claims, demands, expenses, causes of action, lawsuits, damages and liabilities, of every kind and nature, whether known or unknown.
TPAAS animals are handled daily, but I understand that, as with most animals, they may react in an unpredictable way to sounds, sudden movements, certain people, or other animals that could result in injuries. Animals kept in this facility may have a history of injury or trauma, and may be learning social skills. By this waiver, I assume any risk and agree to waive on behalf of myself/child, and my heirs, administrators and assigns, to be deemed to have waived, any claims against The Pas and Area Animal Shelter, its officers, employees or agents from any and all liability, including claims for damage, injury or loss of earnings as a result of injury or accident in connection with volunteering. Further I indemnify and save The Pas and Area Animal Shelter, its officers, employees and agents from any and all liability insured by any or all of them, whether resulting from this contract of a breach or a breach thereof of my volunteer work. This waiver is for the duration of my visit and any future visits, and include, but is not limited to, observing, working with or interacting with the animals, using the facility and its equipment in any manner, and practicing or engaging in other related activities.
Photographic Release: I/children do hereby grant an convey unto TPAAS all rights, title and interest in any and all photographic images, video and recordings made by the rescue during my children’s visit and any benefits derived from such photographs and recordings.
This WAIVER and RELEASE may be waived, altered, amended or repealed, in whole or in part, only upon the prior written consent of all parties.
This WAIVER and RELEASE contains the entire agreement between parties, and supersedes any prior written or oral agreements between them concerning the subject matter.
I have read, understand, and fully agree to the terms of this WAIVER and RELEASE, and freely and voluntarily, under no duress, confirm that by signing this WAIVER AND RELEASE. I am 18 years or older, and/or the legal guardian of named children, and am mentally competent to enter into this waiver. I am responsible for the actions of my children on these premises.
I fully understand and agree that either failure to comply with any and all of the obligations outlined in the Volunteer Agreement and for any reason whatsoever, while performing my volunteer services, The Pas and Area Animal Shelter, at its sole discretion, may immediately terminate my services
