I understand that Friends of Lee County Animal Control (FLCAC) cannot guarantee the health, temperament or breed of any animal being fostered.

I understand the goals and the mission of the FLCAC and, as a FLCAC foster parent, agree to work towards these goals and to represent the mission within the community on behalf of the organization.

I understand that I, as the foster parent, am responsible for providing my foster animal(s) with quality food, clean water, appropriate toys,and a loving and safe environment.

I understand that the reason for this foster is that there is a need, whether it’s medical, behavioral or space related, and that FLCAC may not be able to provide boarding, if an event (known or unknown) comes up during the foster period. I understand that I will have to make other arrangements for this animal and notify the Foster Coordinator.

I understand that for the safety of the foster animal(s), while in my care, cats/kittens may not be allowed outside; dogs must remain on leashes or in a secure, fenced enclosure. Young puppies that are not fully vaccinated should not be allowed outside except in personal backyards or non-highly traveled dog areas. Exceptions may be made for special circumstances, but must have prior approval by the Foster Coordinator.

I agree to provide transportation for my foster animal(s) to local sites for routine medical care or other events as predetermined by the Foster Coordinator.

I understand that all medical care must be completed through or approved by FLCAC. I also understand that FLCAC may not have the resources to provide extensive medical care and at times, euthanasia may be the best option. If the pet is deemed untreatable through FLCAC by administration/management, the foster must notify FLCAC at that time if they choose to take the pet to a regular veterinary clinic/hospital of their choice and assume all financial responsibility.

I understand FLCAC assumes no liability for damages caused by the animal(s) while in the custody of the foster parent.

I understand that foster animal(s) remain the property of FLCAC while in the custody of the foster parent and agree to completing all adoptions through FLCAC following appropriate procedures. I understand I cannot send my foster animal(s) to an adoptive home until the adoption process has been completed and approved by FLCAC.

I understand that FLCAC has the right to terminate the foster carea greement and relationship if I fail to comply with the above FLCAC policies, requiring the immediate return of any and all foster animals.
