Terms and Conditions
Your first class is orientation.* It is held without dogs and is mandatory to attend the class. If you cannot make it to your orientation, please inquire before skipping it. *Full-length basic and puppy classes only.*
Class or Workshop Sizes and Low Registration: Classes, training club, and workshops are required to have a minimum of three registered students to run with a maximum of six or eight. We try to avoid canceling a class or workshop entirely and denying anyone a training experience. If your choice still has a low number of registrants before it begins, it may be combined with another available that day (for classes) or you may be asked to move to another event (for workshops.) When necessary, we adjust the curriculum to accommodate these changes and please all attendants. If this adjustment is too large (such as two completely different topics,) we will attempt to notify you and discuss options. If you do not want to combine classes or switch workshops, your funds will be kept on record as a credit for 1 year to be used with any other class(es,) events, services, or products.
Attendance: While we do not recommend it, we allow two missed absences for full length class graduations. If your dog or puppy misses more classes, they may continue to attend but will not receive a graduation certificate or gift. Make-up classes are not guaranteed but may be available on a case-by-case basis.
Payment: Payment is due prior to the first class. Please check your calendar and registration form before submitting payment. In the case of scheduling conflicts, registrations may be transferred from one dog/family to another (you can trade with a friend.) This must take place before the first class. Full cancellation and refund policies can be seen on our website here. No refunds will be given for any reason.
Prepaid Classes: When registering for a prepaid class, you understand the class schedule is not yet released. Once the schedule is released, it is your responsibility to tell us which class you want to join so we reserve our spot. By purchasing a prepaid class, you acknowledge there is a possibilty the class you want will fall on a date that is not ideal for your schedule. To best prevent this, we suggest you ask for a possible schedule before submitting payment.
Summer/Winter Training Club Vouchers: We encourage all students to use summer or winter vouchers within the season they are purchased. If unused vouchers remain, the student must trade them in within one month of the last day to exchange for credit toward other services. All vouchers expire after one month of the last training club day.
Additional fees: Some classes may require additional fees. Currently, the only classes this applies to are Canine Good Citizen (CGC) and Puppy S.T.A.R. There will be an additional fee for the CGC test (TBD), as well as payment to the AKC ($10-$20) for your certificate upon passing. Neither the CGC nor Puppy S.T.A.R. tests are required to pass the class.
Removal from training: Trainer, at his/her sole discretion, may remove a pet or person from class if a hazard or threat of any nature to any animal or person is present. This includes those adding ongoing emotional stress to the group. No refund will be given under such circumstances.
Vaccinations: You may bring any vaccination or titer records with you to the first class. We recognize over-vaccination of pets is a very real concern. If you'd like more information on this or the use of titers, we suggest visiting http://www.protectthepets.com
