Welcome to the BCSC's 2020 Scholarship Application! This year we are using a primarily web-based application that consists of sections that are completed online here. Please note: Some information still must be emailed to email@example.com.
We encourage you to scroll through this web application to the end to view the necessary information required to apply before beginning.
CAUTION: You will not be able to save your progress as you complete the online portion of your application. We strongly encourage you to save your answers in a Word document. Then, copy and paste your answers to this form when you are ready to submit your application.
Each applicant must meet the following requirements:
Applicant must be a dependent for which the sponsor is both living in and working in the USAG Bavaria Tower Barracks or Rose Barracks Military Communities.
Applicant must have a parent/guardian/sponsor with current membership in the BCSC by September 1, 2020.
Applicant and sponsor must both possess valid military identification cards.
Applicant must have a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.8 or better based on a 4.0 scale for the duration of high school.
Applicant must have applied to or be accepted to an accredited college or university in a degree seeking program.
The applicant is responsible for gathering and submitting all necessary information and official documents. Applications are evaluated on the information submitted; therefore, please answer all questions completely and give specific dates when required.
Applicants can only be awarded one scholarship per board year. Each board year begins in June, and ends the following May.
Conditions of the Scholarship Award
The scholarship will be applied to classes taken toward your degree. The scholarship is for payment of tuition, books, laboratory fees, and exam fees only.
Scholarship awards will be made payable to the financial office of chosen institution of higher learning. If payment by the BCSC directly to the accredited institution is not possible, the award will be considered invalid and will be rolled back onto the BCSC Scholarship Fund.
The Bavaria Community and Spouses' Club Scholarship Committee reserves the right to deny any application where there is evidence of fraud and/or abuse,
, or an inappropriate request of funds based on our mission. The Bavaria Community and Spouses' Club reserves the right to make final decisions on all applications and use of funds.
Selection of Scholarship Recipients
Scholarship recipients will be selected by the Bavaria Community and Spouses' Club Scholarship Committee. To ensure fairness and impartiality, the selection is done anonymously. Committee members and applicant names will not be divulged, and all information will be treated in a confidential manner.
The following will be considered in evaluating the applicant:
Transcript(s) and GPA
Paid and/or volunteer work experience, extracurricular activities and community involvement
Essay and Additional Question
One letter of recommendation from a professor or teacher in your field of study
Successful applicants will be notified by e-mail no later than November 15, 2020.

Please email all documents, including your proof of admission, transcripts, essay, recommendation letter, and additional question in
email with your applicant code (see #3 below) in the subject of your email.
To ensure fairness and impartiality, the selection is done anonymously. Create an “applicant code” consisting of the last letter of your first name, last letter of your last name, and the last four digits of your DOD ID number which is located on your military ID card. You must name all files to be submitted via email with your “applicant code” first, followed by item name. Example, ND8031 – Proof of Admission, ND8031 – Transcript, ND8031 – Essay, Recommendation Letter, and Additional Question. Remember to submit all files in one email.

a. Proof of admission: Either official proof of acceptance or a copy of your current course schedule. If you have not yet been accepted into your school of choice, please provide proof that you have applied.
