Applicants for HOFLA's free legal services must fill out this form to let us know if we have your permission to refer you to a free Financial Stability Program provided by our financial education partner, the Personal Finance Center of Polk County. 

    The Personal Finance Center of Polk County gives free financial education classes to residents of Polk, Hardee, and Highlands counties.  You can click this link to learn more about the free in-person and online Financial Stability Classes offered by the Personal Finance Center of Polk County. 

  • INSTRUCTIONS:

    1. This form must be completed & submitted online before Heart of Florida Legal Aid Society, will consider scheduling an appointment for you to speak with a lawyer. 
    2. During your consultation, the lawyer will ask you some questions to determine if Heart of Florida Legal Aid Society can help you with your legal case or not. 
    3. If Heart of Florida Legal Aid Society is able to help you with your case, you may be required to attend and complete Financial Stability Classes provided by our financial education partner, the Personal Finance Center of Polk County. 
    4. Even if a Heart of Florida Legal Aid Society attorney cannot help you with your case, Heart of Florida Legal Aid Society can still refer you to the Personal Finance Center of Polk County for free Financial Stability classes if you are interested in those classes.
    5. The Personal Finance Center of Polk County is in charge of the class schedule and the information taught.
