To Prospective Students of Higher Education:
The Douglas-Carroll-Paulding Counties (DCP) Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is a sisterhood of progressive and dedicated women. Our sisterhood stands as a beacon of light providing public service support to improve the quality of life for the citizens of Douglas, Carroll, and Paulding Counties.
Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., has a membership of over 300,000 predominately African-American, college educated women. The Sorority currently has over 900 chapters located among the United States, Japan, Germany, Bermuda, the Bahamas, South Korea, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Delta Sigma Theta is a private non- profit organization with the purpose of providing beneficial services and programs to promote human welfare. From its formation, the sorority emerged and evolved to clearly establish itself as a public service organization which strives to confront the specific problems not only affecting African-Americans, but women in general and more broadly social issues; thereby benefiting the global community. Our chapter conducts a wide range of events addressing economic development, educational development, physical and mental health, international awareness as well as political involvement.
DCP Alumnae provides academic scholarships as well as other programs for middle and high schoolers to prepare our young boys and girls for full participation as leaders in the 21st Century. We will ceremoniously announce the award to our scholarship recipients. Awards are issued to the students upon confirmation of matriculation, no earlier than November 1, 2020. The awards will be issued starting December 1, 2020, providing ALL of the documentation is received and completed accurately.
