2020 PRESENTER AGREEMENT
If my panel or session is accepted, I agree to the following:
I agree to attend the 68th annual Utah State Historical Society Conference Rights and Responsibilities on Friday, September 25, 2020, and to deliver my presentation in person. Unless otherwise agreed to, all panel or session participants will attend the conference at their own expense.
I agree to register at https://history.utah.gov/ushs-conference and to check in at the registration desk upon my arrival. All panelists or session presenters must register. Registration will begin June 1, 2020.
I am submitting a 50-word biography, which may be published on the conference program and/or Utah State History's website. In addition to a short biography, all panelists or session presenters must submit a CV or professional resume.
I am submitting a 500-word proposal of my panel or session, which may be published on the conference program and/or Utah State History's website.
For session organizers: I agree to submit the full presentation(s) of the panel or session by September 1, 2020, to email@example.com.
We will provide A/V equipment, including a PC laptop, LCD projector and screen for each presentation. Mac users must bring an adaptor for their particular laptop. If there is any additional type of A/V needed, we must be notified of that need in this application. We will make every effort to accomodate additional A/V requests, but some equipment may not be available.
I agree, along with all panel or session participants, to arrive at the assigned room of my presentation at least fifteen minutes prior to the beginning of my session to familiarize myself with the A/V equipment and room setup.
I agree to stay within my allotted time limit for the panel or session as determined by the chairperson of your session or moderator of your panel. I understand that if I go beyond my allotted minutes, I am taking time from other participants, the commentator, and the audience. Chairpersons and room captains in the concurrent sessions will strictly monitor the time and will not allow speakers/presenters to continue once they have used their allotted time. A good rule of thumb is to allow one minute for every 150 words, or 2 to 2.5 minutes per printed page (double-spaced, 12 pt. type).
I agree to have my panel or session audio (or video) recorded. I give permission to the Utah State Historical Society, if it chooses, to produce electronic copies in whole or in part and in any media deemed fit for inclusion on the Utah State History website.
I give my permission for photos and video to be taken of me and/or my session participants during the conference. These images and my likeness, name and biographical information may be used for current and future conference publicity and marketing purposes.
If arranged, I am willing to be interviewed by the media and other sources prior to the conference.
In making my presentation, I recognize that I, along with panel or session presenters, are not acting as an employee, agent or spokesperson for the Utah Division of State History, the Utah State Historical Society, or the State of Utah. I am also aware that State History is a state agency that relies on the support of the Utah legislature and the Office of the Governor. I hereby affirm that none of the material presented in my presentation infringes on any person's copyright or right of privacy, and further, I will not libel or slander any other person, facility, product, company, or service during my presentation. If such affirmation is breached, I will indemnify and hold harmless State History, its officers, board of directors, and members. I affirm that the work I shall present at the conference is based on defensible research and appropriate professional methodology with carefully referenced and cited works. I further agree that during my attendance at the conference, my conduct will conform to the highest standards of ethical and professional deportment and courtesy.
