    For High School Seniors Class of 2023 and Single Parents that are first time college students
  • The Giving Hope & Help (GH&H)-Education Is Your Passport Program (EIYP) missions to provide educational and financial assistance for Pre-K through Adult/non-traditional college students. This portion of the program (The MCC-Giving Hope & Help EDUCATION IS YOUR PASSPORT SCHOLARSHIP) is designed to benefit low income high school seniors and low income SINGLE PARENTS (SINGLE PARENTS WHO HAVE NEVER ATTENDED COLLEGE) with a FULL RIDE SCHOLARSHIP to MCC-Penn Valley and more. 

     

    MCC - GH&H Education Is Your Passport Full Ride Scholarship Qualifications:

    •  High School Senior with a GPA of 2.5+ on a 4.0 Scale
    • Single parent that has never been to college

    • Submit two letters of recommendation from a High School Counselor, Educational or Community Organization Leader
    • Submit a letter of acceptance on official letterhead from MCC-PENN VALLEY (a clear copy of the letter is acceptable)
    • Submit Official High school transcript
    • Submit proof of LOW INCOME- Attach 2021 or 2022 Household W-2 or 2021or 2022 Household W-2 Transcript. You must provide Head of Household and or both parents W2's. Single parent applicants that have never been to college must provide W2 or Transcript from 2021 or 2022.

    • Submit a 500-1,000 word Essay on a need(s) in your community and how you plan to give back to meet the needs(s) while in college and beyond to make a difference.

  • MCC-Penn Valley/GH&H-EIYP Full Ride Scholarship includes:

    •PAID TUITION AND FEES FOR 2 YEARS WITH A 2.5 MAINTAINED GPA.

    • A brand new laptop computer to aid in educational success
      • Backpack of school supplies
    • Basket of Toiletries
    • Services from College Coaching Network Virtual Platform, FREE for the first year. 
    • Financial Literacy in a Box from Exceeds Expecations Inc. 
    • Opportunity for a corporate paid internship during college and or upon graduation. (internships are available based on corporation need)
    • Five consecutive weekly sessions of Life Coaching - anytime during the scholar's college career from New Life Education Training Group
    •  Volunteer and Scholarship opportunities throughout college career via Giving Hope & Help and partnerships with educational/community organizations.

    Completed applications are due by Saturday April 15, 2023 at 5:00pm.

    Applicants will be informed of receiving the scholarship by Monday, May 20, 2022. The scholarship program is June 24, 2023, at The Westin Crown Center, KCMO. Scholars should plan to arrive at 5:30pm. 

    In order to physically receive the scholarship, recipient must be present in Kansas City, at the June scholarship program to receive the scholarship.
