• Dating apps (Bumble and Tinder): Study

    This study will be conducted in conjunction with Western Sydney University and has been approved by the Human Ethics Committee (2020). Participants will be asked to attend 2 x 1 hour focus groups in March, and to e-journal their dating app experience during March. In addition, some participants may be asked to be part of in-depth interviews in April / May (1 hour in length x 3) based on willingness / availability. Please note, interviews and focus groups will be held at the Western Sydney, Parramatta, South Campus: however, participants will be given an option to Zoom in.

  • Do you currently live in NSW?
  • Are you 18-35 years of age?
  • Are you LGBTIQAA+ ?
  • Are you Culturally And Linguistically Diverse (CALD), Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander (ATSI)?
  • Have you previously found a partner using a dating app?
  • Are you available to participate in two focus groups in March?
  • Would you prefer to Zoom into the focus groups?
  • Would you consider participating in in-depth interviews, which will occur in April and May? (3 in total)
  • Are you also happy to keep a written journal (digital) about your experience on the dating app (approx 30mins per week) in March?
