We are seeking strong presenters who can provide an engaging and informative, agriculturally themed workshop. Workshops should include classroom lessons, techniques, resources, methods or programs with a practical connection to agriculture. We encourage workshop proposals on all topics in the areas of agricultural education, school gardens, nutrition education and California history and for all grade levels.
We encourage activities that include accompanying hand-outs and supporting material for educators and that satisfy CA Content, Common Core or Next Generation Science Standards. (Please bring an extra set for CFAITC to keep)
Workshops (1 Hour):
Workshops will be 1 hour and are intended to be genuine interactive events, presenting factual and user-friendly information to a small audience of 30-40 people. We welcome workshops with creative structures and organizations that attract various points of view.
Workshops will be held on Friday, September 25, 2020 from 10:15 am - 11:15 am and 11:30 am - 12:30 pm (presented once) at the Ventura Beach Marriott.
Set-up time for Friday, September 25th workshops will be 8:30 am - 10:00 am.
Mini Workshops (20 Minute):
The Mini Workshop session (similar to previous years Make-N-Take activities) should be hands-on and will consist of three, 20-minute rotations (only presented once) with approximately 20 participants per rotation, per presenter.
The Mini Workshop sessions will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2020 from 11:00 am - 12:30 pm at the Ventura Beach Marriott
Set-up time for Saturday, September 26, 2020 will be 8:30 am - 10:00 am.
*We offer a $50 stipend for all workshop presenters and a $25 stipend for all mini workshop presenters
