The Trek is a sunrise to sunset journey through a wild place no one really knows. The goal of the Trek is an internal one, to be conscious and joyful at being outdoors in direct contact with the earth. There is time to sit and watch and reflect on the natural world, and to saunter and wander over relatively short distances. The Trek is inspired by explorer and Sierra Club founder John Muir, who would often head into the wilds of nature seeking only the day’s richness with no set destination. Our Trek offers these same qualities as the planet moves into the light of its closest star and then turns into the darkness of space.
The experience begins Friday evening with a light dinner and the Trek orientation. The Trek itself takes place from sunrise to sunset on Saturday. Participants sleep at the Cooper Center Friday night and then wake up early for the Trek.
$35 per participant. Includes all participant materials, overnight lodging and dinner at the Cooper Center on Friday, as well as food during the Trek on Saturday. Pay by check or credit card.
